Poem: Diamonds and Dinosaur Bones
May. 11th, 2018 11:24 amHe was my archaeological find.
Something to unearth and
examine. Something to study.
A diamond dulled by the sand,
coarse grains scraping
the shining beauty held inside.
I was patient enough
to unravel the enigma.
It became my quest.
Sweeping the dust,
clearing the cobwebs,
letting the light in.
Fragile bone,
broken heart,
crooked spine.
A mind awake and alive,
longing in deep dark places
to be rescued.
He is my greatest discovery.
Something to unearth and
examine. Something to study.
A diamond dulled by the sand,
coarse grains scraping
the shining beauty held inside.
I was patient enough
to unravel the enigma.
It became my quest.
Sweeping the dust,
clearing the cobwebs,
letting the light in.
Fragile bone,
broken heart,
crooked spine.
A mind awake and alive,
longing in deep dark places
to be rescued.
He is my greatest discovery.
